Come escape to Stand by Me that is Festival of Flowers 2010! Now in its 17th year, Festival of Flowers is the greater Gulf Coast's premier garden event and continues to grow in size and recognition, attracting over 18,000 visitors over the four day event. The photography competion was such a huge success that it will return. The 2010 winners will be displayed at The Mobile Museum of Art.
"Stand By Me" is the harmonious theme guiding the spectacular displays of the 2010 festival. Mankind's love of music and flowers will blend to create a global tapestry of gardens. Guests will be taken from England to Holland as well as Asia and points in between on a sensational and horticultural tour.
Among the show's feature attractions:
- A giant Old World Windmill.
- The Photography Contest Exhibit focuses on garden themes.
- Master Gardeners are available to guide any green thumb about the Old Stand By plants for the home gardener.
- Chic and fashionable "Scapes" and Floral Design Exhibits bedazzle.
- The Blooming Cuisine is the newest in ultra chic food preparation and kitchen design. Menus will involve the use of fresh vegetables, herbs and edible flowers.
- World of Flowers Exhibit features blossoms from the South of France.
- Featured Artist Sarah Haas Otts
- Life-sized landscaped gardens by regional landscape architects, garden designers and landscape contractors.
- Mobile Museum of Art's weekend program charms children of all ages.
